Privacy Policy
How HVACProfitMath collects, uses, and protects your information.
This Privacy Policy describes how HVACProfitMath ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our website located at hvacprofitmath.com (the "Site") and the tools and services we offer (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
We collect information you provide when you:
- Contact us via the contact form or email: name, email address, company name, team size, and message content.
- Register for a Pro account: name, email address, and billing information (processed securely by our payment provider — we do not store card numbers).
- Use calculator tools: numeric inputs you enter into the calculators (revenue figures, labor rates, etc.). These are processed locally in your browser and are not transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly save them as part of a Pro subscription.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you use the Site, we may automatically collect certain technical information, including:
- Log data: IP address, browser type and version, pages visited, time and date of visit, time spent on pages, and referring URL.
- Device information: Device type, operating system, and screen resolution.
- Cookies and similar technologies: We use cookies to maintain session state, remember preferences, and analyze usage patterns. See Section 5 for details.
1.3 Calculator Inputs
The financial calculators on HVACProfitMath process all inputs locally within your browser. We do not collect, log, or transmit the specific numbers you enter into calculators unless you are a Pro subscriber who explicitly saves a report. Free tool usage generates no data on our servers beyond standard web server logs (page visits, not calculator values).

- Respond to your inquiries and support requests
- Send transactional emails (account confirmations, password resets, support responses)
- Send optional product updates and newsletters (only with your consent; you may unsubscribe at any time)

- Detect and prevent fraudulent or abusive use of the Services
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your information for advertising targeting or share it with advertising networks.
3. How We Share Your Information
We may share your information with:
- Service providers: Third-party vendors who assist us in operating the Site (e.g., hosting providers, email delivery services, analytics providers). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and may not use it for their own purposes.
- Payment processors: If you subscribe to Pro, payment information is handled by a PCI-compliant payment processor. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.

- Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or a prominent notice on the Site before your information is transferred.
4. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Services and fulfill the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law. Contact form submissions are retained for up to 2 years. Pro account data is retained for the duration of the subscription plus 1 year following cancellation, after which it is permanently deleted upon request.
5. Cookies
We use the following types of cookies:
- Strictly necessary cookies: Required for the Site to function (e.g., session management). These cannot be disabled.
